This
job was begun as a Hi-Tech Hi-Fi project, but
when the now-defunct store was unable to complete
the installation, this became an A-V
Services job. I am especially proud
of this system not only because of its sophistication
and complexity, but because we went out onto
a serious financial limb in order to take care
of the customer. I had my doubts about our ability
to handle the job, but we paid our dues, did
what we had to do, and completed the system
as promised.
The
system consists of a dedicated home theater
(complete with disco dance floor and lighting!)
and five additional zones of distributed audio.
These include the indoor swimming pool, bar
and fireplace area, pool table area, and two
outdoor decks.
Heart
of the home theater is the ceiling-mounted Runco
DTV-947 CRT High Definition Video Projector
and a 104" wide screen wall-mounted behind
motorized drapery.
The
audio equipment consists of B&W 600 Series
2 Loudspeakers mounted flush, M&K MX-350
Powered Subwoofer, and a rack of primarily Marantz
electronics. The Marantz SR-19 Receiver
drives the main system and controls the distributed
audio zones.
Outside,
we, installed B&W Outdoor Speakers on the
patio and on a second wood deck built down by
the cliff overlooking the lake.
A
unique feature of the home theater is a beautiful
wood dance floor located in front of the screen
with its own overhead disco lights! Now, the
customer's children can bring their friends
home and enjoy fantastic parties while the parents
are upstairs out of view, but always nearby.
As a parent myself, I can appreciate the value
of this strategy!
